Solar Household Energy, Inc. (SHE) was founded in 1998 to introduce solar cooking where it can add quality to life and alleviate stress on the environment. In 2004, SHE completed the design of a breakthrough solar oven, the HotPotTM, to meet the demand for an economical yet durable and powerful alternative cooking device. SHE’s staff is experienced in direct solar cooking instruction and promotion, international project management and commercial enterprise leadership.

In June 2006, Solar Household Energy Inc. was granted provisional authority to change its status from a 501(c)(3) private foundation to a 501(c)(3) public charity as described under Internal Revenue Code 509(a)(2).
