A Global Standard for Solar cookers

The world’s largest developer of voluntary International Standards, ISO (International Organization for Standardization), has initiated the development of standards for clean cook stoves and clean cooking solutions. Paul Arveson, Solar Household Energy’s VP and Treasurer, attended the first meeting of the new US Technical Advisory Group held in DC in 2013, resulting in the inclusion of solar cookers in this process. Dr Paul Funk subsequently attended the first global meeting in Nairobi in February 2014. Due to the importance of having solar cooking represented, Solar Household Energy and Solar Cookers International collaborated in funding Dr. Funk’s travel to Nairobi.
